MommyCon Anaheim Recap/Review - Mama Loves Little

MommyCon Anaheim Recap/Review

Hello!

Today I'm going back in time a bit to recap my time at MommyCon in Orange County. I stumbled upon the MommyCon events on Facebook one day and I knew I had to make it to one! The next one was in August 2016 which was the month I was due with Ryder. I was determined to make it though, so at the very end of my pregnancy I wobbled to a mom convention, how fitting though right?!

What is MommyCon?

Essentially it is just what it sounds like, a convention focused on motherhood and parenting. There are exhibitors there showing new and innovative products. There are sessions on babywearing, breastfeeding, natural parenting, cloth diapering, sleeping, etc

I received two media passes in exchange for my thoughts on the event. I took my aunt along with me and we had tons of fun!

The check in process was super easy! Just gave my name and received my badge. Then we were able to get our swag bags at another booth. Also very easy! I will add that there were no lines to do either of these things. It ran very smoothly and wasn't to crowded. On the back of your badge is a number, this number serves as your "raffle ticket" for the giveaways. I thought that was so much better than keeping track of an actual ticket. The giveaways are good too! The winners are announced on the Facebook page and if you win you go up to the front to see what you won. They didn't announce all the prizes but I was nosy and saw some ladies won BOB strollers, Britax Carseats and cloth diapers.

There were a few sessions I really wanted to see! One being Cloth Diapering 101 with the founder of Cotton Babies. This was so helpful! Jennifer the speaker shared some great information.

I went into this really excited to try cloth diapers with Ryder, I left even more excited to try! He is two months old now and I haven't brought out the cloth yet but I finally feel like I'm ready! Now that breastfeeding is going okay and Avery is better adjusted to her new norm we can introduce something new.

After this session we wandered through the exhibitors. So much good stuff! I have an obsession with baby things, I'm not proud of it but I can't help it!

This booth above was the Cloth Diapering Resource Center. The ladies here were so helpful! They taught me so much about all the different options for cloth diapering. It was a little intimidating at first but they really broke it down.

After that we attended a session on breastfeeding with Jessica Martin-Weber of The Leaky Boob. While she did have some great words for us mama's I was a little disappointed there was no informative information on the actions of breastfeeding. As an expecting mom I would have loved some tips and tricks on latching, feeding positions, tips etc.

One of my favorite booths was the OC Doula Collective booth. They had the cutest set up for photos! The ladies here were so sweet and had great info on childbirth, breastfeeding, lactation and placenta encapsulation. If you are in Southern CA definitely check out their services.

After we attended some sessions had lunch and saw all of the great booths we headed home! It was such a fun experience and I would love to go back again next year! Check out the MommyCon site here- https://mommy-con.com/ to see when it will be in your area. If you are in SoCal like me I suggest going to MILK which is MommyCon's conference focused on infant feeding. More info on that right here- https://milkconference.com/

When in Rome...I mean Costa Mesa! Haha! This was the icing on the cake. Hands down best cookie I have had in my life.

Oh the SWAGGG! Everything pictured (except the shirts) were included in the swag bags. So fun! The event is sponsored by so many great vendors.

So my short review of MommyCon?

It was an amazing time! Very informative and I would totally go again.

That is all for now friends! Happy Friday!

In love, Rachel
